PANAMA COMMISSION COMPLETE!

It's CRAZY, but truly amazing that this place exists!

LUNA'S CASTLE is finally a visual art gallery, and from what we have been told by travelers, one of, if not the best hostel ever visited! So if your ever in Panama....please check it out!
All the paintings are complete and hanging on the walls in every room, dorm, common area, hallway, nook and cranny etc. In all, there are over 130 paintings from Corinna and I ranging in size from a few inches up to 4 feet by 8 feet. The concept from the beginning was to plaster the walls with as much work as possible and as good a quality as possible with the most diversity as possible. We've done that, aside from the new private rooms that have only 1 large piece in each room to keep them a bit more calming.

From the time you walk in the door, you are greeted with art on the walls.....and it never stops!

Corinna even made sure the lighting was right with custom panels on every light throughout the Castle.

While I recycled some of the waste to hang these garbage girls around the place.

Luna's Castle is massive, 4 floors, and complete with a full chef kitchen, movie theatre, 2 large common areas, a 20+ seating dining hall, overhead balcony, hammock breezeway, open courtyard, dorm rooms, private rooms and soon... a standing only bar in our dungeon. In total, there are 16 different accommodation areas, and Corinna custom made a different, hand-painted signs for each and every room. Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what is going on here overall.

Luna's Castle from the street-Panama City Panama.

The view from the balcony out the front towards the city centre. I wake up to this!

The main common area with internet, couches, balcony, some of Corinna's best work ever and musical instruments.

The chill out room with balcony, hammocks, couches and a lot of my personal funk factor.

One of many hallways throughout the castle.

The main stairway leading to the top floor.

The main hallway upstairs in the castle.

The main entry way across from reception.

It is hard to truly capture the scope of this project as it's such a gigantic place.

As well, here are the last 5 paintings I completed in the last 2 weeks.

"ROBERTS SON STEPHEN MARLEY" - 60" x 48" - Acrylic and marker on wood

3 MONTHS LATER!

Mission...ALMOST...Complete.
Yahoo!...ALMOST Travel time!

Corinna and I are in the finishing stages of work here at Luna's Castle. 4 days left...for now.
Looks like we will be flown back to Panama City from Guatemala in January for a couple weeks to provide the finishing touches on a major renovation, before we fly home in Early February.
We are in the midst of framing and hanging the last handful of pieces, solidifying our promotional materials, documenting all aspects and tidying up loose ends.
What a trip!
Here's a picture of me out in the street showing the Presidential Policia some of the paintings I did of them. I had some help hauling them off the walls and out into the middle of the road for them to see. At first they thought I was crazy for sure, but they couldn't stop looking at them. Alexis' smile tells it all. At least I didn't get arrested...again.
Thanks for the photo skills Corinna.
And YES, that is a Whistler Podium Auto Detail shirt I have on.
Luna's Castle is a truly amazing place, and when you travel throughout Central America, you will undoubtedly here stories about how people come here and stay a while. Many people overnighting it, end up here for a week or more. I get a little wild sometimes and the 160 vodka jello shooters I made the other night to toss around for good measure, certainly don't hurt the fun-o-meter, not to mention it's so damn hot, everyones nearly naked!

What Luna's lacks in a natural outback setting, it makes up for with gigantic space to move around, a jungle courtyard, lazy hammock breezeway, big screen movie theatre, free internet, timely laundry service, new guitars, bad ass art, panoramic ocean and city views and super rad vibes. Panama City is a modern hub and great jumping off point to South America and many awesome surf locations, islands and jungle treks.
Check out these little cuties we found on Isla Taboga, a 45 minute ferry ride from here.
Green and Black Poison Dart Frog
Yeah! The ones the natives used the poison from to tip their blowdart points for hunting.

Fiddler Crab
These little guys are reeeeeaaaaal darn fast and beautiful saturated reds, purples and yellows.

Central American Smooth Gecko
We found this guy in an old Army War Bunker on a hike. He's 10 inches long!

Redrump Tarantula
Actually....a little bigger than the size of my palm. On the trail at our feet.

Pictures of the finished project will be posted very soon, so in the meantime, I hope you enjoy this new work from the last 2 weeks.

BAIL INTO THE CREATIVE REVOLUTION!

Everyone hates math, so here it is...don't be a hater.
Controversy and sex sell. I have a girlfriend, so here's the other.
$700,000,000,000 -bailout
divided by 400 (approx.) the # of paintings I have at my disposal
equals $1,750,000,000 which is the price I would have to sell each painting for, to cover this soon-to-be-bigger mess than it already is.

After 3o hours of work, this painting tells a lot.
"$700 Billion bailout for only $100,000.00" - 36"x48" - "FOR SALE" $100,000.00

So this painting is only $100,000.00. It is "for sale" and we figure it is one hell of a screaming deal for that lucky person with a significantly smaller amount than $700,000,000,000, who wants a non-polluting, emission-free, tangible investment sure to become a valuable short-term and long-term reward.
Barely chump change for the right buyer and I guarantee I will personally deliver it to you anywhere, worldwide to ensure it's safe, mortgage-free, no-catch arrival at your doorstep.

If nearly everyone in the world didn't bite the baitless mortgage/loan/finance/economic money hook the savages threw in when life was cherry, no one would be in this position and we would never be on the brink of....wait for it..........
on a bigger, badder, more serious scale than any point in recent history..........

"A CREATIVE REVOLUTION"
Here it comes!!!!!!!
WHY?
When this economic situation has leveled out, millions of people worldwide will be affected. They will be forced to think about business differently, view issues far more creatively, see one another on a more empathetic level. People will find new creative outlets to live the new way they may have never experienced.
There IS more to life than money.
Many people associated with penthouse suites, stock markets, 10 bedroom homes, global portfolios, Armani suits(trademark), board meetings, Rolex(trademark), 3 meals out, triple Manhattan martinis, diamond cuff links, day trading, Rolls-Royce (trademark), and 7am-6pm forget to view the world from an angle other than standing atop a stack of 100's.
Creativity is a vast interconnected energy that once tapped into will bring about new, exciting patterns, freedoms, realities and truths.
Creativity, once accepted and utilized is uplifting, entertaining, rational and persistent.
Everyone has it in them, some just forgot to follow this path.

GET CREATIVE........SHOW SOME LOVE!!!!!
Think outside the box
Don't eat money even if it's all you have
and PLEASE.............buy the above painting.

Here are the other piece I have created in the last 2 weeks. ENJOY!

"A SOUND INVESTMENT" - 48" x 72" - Acrylic on wood panel - SOLD

"The WISE INVESTOR" - 48"x24" - SOLD

Ontario Canada Stopover

I am far from my home in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada right now. I am in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. I am leaving Canada in 10 days to begin a thrilling painting adventure in Panama City, Panama. Corinna Haight (my girlfriend) and I will be painting as much work as we can for some very awesome people in Panama... a very awesome place. I can not stop dreaming of and visualizing the changes, influences and inspirations that will come to my artwork once again.

I am an artist who is very driven by changing scenery, however I do not paint scenery. I am driven by my surroundings and travels, however, I rarely paint my surroundings. I am also driven by new people, new outlooks, and new societies. These I paint.

I paint whatever comes from my mind, however it comes out and the outcome differs from week-to-week or day-to-day. Sometimes, as you see here in these images, I produce something that I really like, which in turn inspires me to produce another piece of work similar. I often start my bodies of work this way, accidentally, by flowing into it from the process of production alone. I produce a lot of work from quick sketches to multi-day, detailed pieces.

I go by feel, as it is the way I found my passion and it is the way I will grow with it. These are 4 of the 20 or so pieces I have done in watercolour and ink since I have arrived in Ontario 3 weeks ago. If one needed to categorize the works into style, there would be 4 styles, but I don't care to label them. Only 1 style is seen here. All works are on paper and behind glass.

FOLLOW YOUR PASSION!
COMPROMISE ALL COMPROMISE
CODE OF CREATION..........

Peace!
Daniel Poisson
